K9APE® Machine Vision Inspection System For
Threaded Products
K9APE® Machine
Vision Inspection Systems are readily adapted for inspection of products
comprising threads - such as fasteners and drill bits. Inspection can occur during
or after the manufacturing process or while the product is be inserted.
The parts shown below are a 3/8 inch bolt
with rough-cut threads and a used 1/4 inch drill bit.

The bolt and the drill bit were each mounted
on a K9APE® Machine Vision Inspection System to obtain a 1.92 Mbyte images of the 360°
circumferences of the end of each part. The following images are of a small
area of the circumferential image of each part. Images have been

Thread characteristics and defects, such as
in these examples, are readily detected and measured by our K9APE®
Machine Vision Inspection Systems. Images of higher quality can be obtained
during manufacture and use.
