Current Projects & Research

We have developed new technology for inspecting 360° convex and concave surfaces. Examples of convex surfaces are rollers, tubes, pistons and valve cores. Examples of concave surfaces include bearings, seals and cylinders. See www.k9ape.com/new/new.html for links to recent images.

One of our current projects is the construction of a Machine Vision Image Analysis Inspection System For Automatic Detection of Tilletia Genus Teliospores In Microscopic Samples of Wheat. This system is being engineered for use by commercial and government laboratories inspecting for diseases of wheat such as Karnal Bunt and TCK. Our program comprises:

o        Construction of a microscope stage which is capable of automatically loading and unloading microscope slides so that our system can run in an unattended mode; and

o        Design of Digital Signal Processing algorithms.

We expect to have a prototype available for testing in the Third Quarter of 2000.

Another of our current projects is the engineering of a Machine Vision Image Analysis Inspection System For Classifying Plastic Surfaces That Have Been Machined by Grinding.
